Q1. What is Al Khwarizmi International College?
A1. The Al Khwarizmi International College (AKIC) is an institution of higher learning, a private college, in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), organized by the Ranao Council, Inc (RC) through the Al Khwarizmi International College Foundation, Inc. (AKICF) as an excellent alternative to all existing academic centers of learning.
Q2. Who was Al-Khwarizmi?
A2. Abu Jafa Muhammad Ibn Musa Al Khwarizmi was a great Muslim scholar, known today as the 'Father of Modern Mathematics'. He formalized the Arabic numeral system (1, 2, 3, 4, ...), introduced bothe the ZERO (0) and the decimal (0.0) concepts, and most importantly invented Algebra (al Gebr). Algorithm, being the Latinized version of his name, Al Khawarizmi was a leading light in the Baitul Ilm (house of Wisdom) established by Caliph Mamun, son of Saliph Harun al Rashid, in Bagdad, Iraq, sometime after the death of the Prophet of Islam (pbuh).

A3. The AKIC is a school for the MuslimUmmah under the Phili[[ine educational system. It integrates important features of both the Western (American and European) and the Islamic school systems. It receives support from RC friends worldwide. In the future, it expects to also admit a number of foreign students from Muslim countries in order to stimulate a renaissance of the Golden Age of Islamic Civilization in science and technology through synergy of human creativity abnd Islamic values.

A4. The many colleges and universities in Mindanao cannot accommodate all the secondary graduates from Marawi City, the ARMM and other areas in the country. The AKIC therefore is an excellent alternative because many brilliant scholars locally and abroad are volunteering to participate in its noble goals.

A5. Prominent members od the Ranao Council (RC) have established
the AKIC including former MSU President Dr. Camar A. Umpa, former MSU-Vice President for Academic Affairs, Yusoph C. Latip, Dr. Asnawil Ronsing, Prof. Omar Khalid, and other doctoral and masteral degree holders from various academic fields of study.

A6. Yes. The AKIC is truly unique in comparison to all existing public and private colleges and universities in the Philippines and abroad. RC senior thinkers have put together their collective expertise and experience ro come up with the following features:

- A Trimester Offering allows regular students to finish a 4-5 year course in only three (3) years. More brilliant students can graduate even earlier.
- A Flexible Curriculum essentially does not require prerequisites. Course content may be modified to suit the individual needs of students, thereby making graduation even faster to attain.
- A Placement Examination can accomodate even the least prepared students through appropriate academic intervention programs. It may also allow brilliant students, who advance beyond the freshman level during their admission, to enroll immediately in higher subjects and to suit the individual needs of the students.
- Acceleration by Examination allows brilliant students, who are either on self-study or tutorial, to earn advance credits by passing examinations for subjects, without necessity of attending classes, thereby facilitating further earlier graduation.
- A Credit cum Audit grading system allows students to finish a degree with a perfectly clean academic record: no failures, no incompletes, no lapsed grades, and no dropped subjects.
- An Honor's Program streams brilliant students to graduate with honors upon close academic supervision and guidance. More determined students can graduate with honors by their own choice and even obtain master's degree along with bachelor's degree within four (4) years.
