The college held its orientation and convocation programs last July 4, 2010. It was Sunday, the first day of classes, when the college enthusiastically welcomed the new enrollees numbering 173 together with the old students numbering 167. Now, it totals 340 officially enrolled students from the five departments of the college. This increase of the college population greatly impressed the administration. The college is indeed growing. As the administrative officials graced the occasion of their presence, they could not help but be moved with felicity as their entrance was well applauded by the excited students. The RC – Al Khwarizmi International College Foundation, Inc. (AKIC) will celebrate its 2nd year in February 210 with its theme: “AKIC’s Quest for Excellence and Global Home in Lanao”. In its short life, AKIC has been recognized for its numerous features designed to achieve the dreams of the young Meranaos.

Aside from the continuous support it has from concerned members here and abroad, the foundation has expanded its educational concerns. The AKIC Science Laboratory School in partnership with the Arndell Park Learning Center in Australia will be expanding the year level offerings in the elementary and high school levels.

In June 2010, the offerings will include grades one to five and 1st to 3rd year high school. Among the many features of the school curricula are designed to further student knowledge in science education and Islamic values.

Interestingly, the school can only accommodate a few number of students in order to achieve a focused learning environment for children.

In commemoration with its 2nd Foundation Day, the RC – Al Khwarizmi International College held its 2nd Intramurals last December 17-22, 2009. This unforgettable event lasted for about siz days. It was participated by the AKIC College Students, AKIC-SLS Students, the Ranao Council Student Assembly (RCSA), and all the faculty and staff of the school. The AKIC college students were classified into four teams:, the Al-Khayyam, the Al-Haytham, the Al-Razi, and the Al-Buezjani while the RCSA, SLS, and the AKIC Faculty and Staff carried their respective names for their teams. RC-AKIC Australian Scholars of 2009 met the honorable scholarship sponsors last December 18, 2010 at Ayala Resort Hotel Club House together with the AKIC Officials and Ranao Council President.

The sponsors have personally commended the performance of the students after delivering their speeches of gratitude. The scholars who spoke in behalf of the school committee for scholarship were Sittie Razziqah Muhammad, Maimana Macaurog, Jowaida Mackno, Nasbiah Magandia, Norhana Magondacan and Saliha Calil.
